Currency Converter

Convert between 30+ world currencies using live European Central Bank reference rates — instantly, privately, in your browser. Ideal for travel, cross-border shopping, freelancing and checking what an overseas transfer is worth.

Enter an amount to convert.

What is a currency converter?

A currency converter is a tool that changes an amount in one currency into another using the current exchange rate — dollars to rupees, euros to pounds, yen to dollars. Because rates move constantly, a reliable converter pulls a recent benchmark instead of a fixed value, and this one uses the European Central Bank (ECB) reference rates published every working day.

You enter an amount, pick a source and target currency from more than 30 options, and the converted figure and the exact rate used appear instantly. All the calculations run on JavaScript in your browser, so there is no signup and nothing is sent to our servers. If the live feed cannot be reached, a manual-rate box lets you type any exchange rate and carry on — perfect offline, or when you want to match the rate your own bank gives you.

Manual rate (fallback)

If the live rate API is unreachable, type the exchange rate below and the tool will use it instead. Set 1 USD in units of INR.

Bulk convert (optional)

Paste amounts, one per line, to convert each with the same rate.

How to use

  1. Enter the amount you want to convert.
  2. Pick the source currency (From) and the target currency (To).
  3. The converted amount and the exact rate used appear instantly.
  4. No rate loaded? Type a manual rate in the fallback box and it will be used.

Example

With USD → INR selected, enter 100 in Amount. Once the live rates load, the box shows the converted rupees and the rate used, such as “1 USD = 94.49 INR (ECB rates)”. To test without a live feed, type 94.49 in the manual-rate box and the tool uses it instead. You can also paste 10, 25 and 100 on separate lines into the bulk box and click Convert list to convert all three at the same rate.

FAQ

Where do the exchange rates come from?

Live European Central Bank (ECB) reference rates, delivered by the free Frankfurter API and updated each working day.

Is it free and private?

Yes — free, no signup, and the calculation runs entirely in your browser, sending nothing to our servers.

How often are the rates updated?

About once a day, at 16:00 CET on working days. Weekends and public holidays keep the last published rate.

Why does the rate differ from my bank's rate?

The ECB rate is a mid-market benchmark with no markup. Banks and bureaux add a spread of roughly 2-5%, plus possible fees.

What happens offline?

If the API can't be reached, enter a manual rate and the tool converts with it, showing the rate you used.

Can I convert more than one amount?

Yes. Paste amounts one per line into the bulk box and click Convert list to convert them all at the same rate.

Which currencies are supported?

More than 30, including USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, INR, AUD, CAD, CHF, CNY, ZAR and many more.

Can I swap the currency pair quickly?

Yes. The Swap currencies button reverses From and To and reloads the rates for the new pair.

Do I need an account?

No. It is free, works in any modern browser, and needs no signup or install.
